Meet Lorraine Gachelin | Vibrational Sound Practitioner, Reiki Master & Soulful Artist

Shoutout DFW had the good fortune of connecting with Lorraine Gachelin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorraine, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’ve had an adventurous life. Growing up in a French-American family with a fusion of languages, cross cultural perspectives, traveling and living overseas have made me who I am today. From a very young age, these experiences taught me that there is not one way to do things. There are no right or wrong answers – just choices that each individual must make based on their own knowledge and life experience. My parents were my biggest inspiration for the path my life took. I know that sounds cliché; however, I’d like to summarize the wondrous learning journey that’s been bestowed upon me by these two creative and holistic individuals. My French mother pioneered into the US at the age of 23. By the time she arrived, she had already taught in France and Germany and was on her way to Mexico. Her 6-month stop in Dallas had her crossing paths with my father, who had recently moved back to his native Texas. They soon married and I appeared nine months later. From a young age, I would observe my parents at work, listen to their conversations and soon realized how fortunate I was to have such a unique family. As the daughter of an educator, who eventually founded an international school, it was clear that open-mindedness, respect for others, tolerance and resilience were of maximum importance. This constant reminder kept my mindset broad – giving me permission to evolve into adulthood and experience life’s events. It taught me accountability and resilience as discovering who your true self is can be challenging growing up. My father, a syndicated cartoonist, grew up drawing anything he could get his hands on. After his own global travel adventure with the Merchant Marines, he went to art school in Chicago then lived in NY, where he began to illustrate a story strip for the papers. Against the odds of becoming a successful artist in a competitive market, he never gave up on his dream. Once his dream was achieved, he was loyal to it until the day he retired at the age of 79. His career never seems like work because his work was his true passion. As you can probably gather, I have a lot of respect for my parents. I even worked for each of them so that I could learn more about what passion and dedication means. I became an educator myself – teaching art following my studies in Chicago. I also assisted my dad on his comic strip during his final years of work, leading him into retirement. The lessons I learned from both parents come down to this: Follow your passion. If you love it, you will be good at it. If the skill doesn’t come naturally to you, you will be motivated to learn more about it and find where you fit into the puzzle. The world needs all types of people with all types of passions to keep things balanced and functioning. Nothing should be too below you or too above you. Your interest and skill set will bring you to where you need to be. When you upgrade your skill set, your place will naturally shift. As life evolves, interests may change and we are exposed to new ideas. These are opportunities to develop new skills, new knowledge and rewrite your script.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A few years ago, I realized that it was time for me to compose the next chapter of my journey. I was feeling static – stuck in a cycle that was no longer bringing joy. My mother’s voice would speak to me in my head. “Be ready to learn something new. Anything is possible.” During a meditative moment, I asked for guidance about my path. What am I to do next that would give my life more meaning. How can I contribute to making our world a better place? That same night, I experienced a lucid dream that would put me on a new path. My dream brought me the vision of opening a business for alternative healing. Here, people could work to reduce their levels of stress in a graceful, non-intrusive way. The business name given to me was My Chakra Center and I was to be, not only its founder but also its first practitioner. Having grown up in a very holistic and creative household, I was exposed to such things as homeopathy, aromatherapy, Tarot card readings, Aura photos, Crystal Reiki. Until then, I just didn’t realize that I would turn alternative methods of healing into my own purpose in life. After all, in today’s terms, these are unconventional methods, which can easily lead to criticism or judgment from anyone fearing the unfamiliar. A large dose of resilience is needed to stand tall to other’s fear of the unknown. I began my metamorphosis right away. It was time for me to plan my retirement from a secure job and face a new challenge. It took several years for me to design my new business as I only had weekends and summer holidays available to focus on it. I became certified as a Usui Reiki master, a Siwa Murti healer and licensed as a Vibrational Sound therapist. More certifications followed, because, as a passionate and lifelong learner, I kept feeling the need to learn more. This knowledge would be used to be of service to others. My Chakra Center began as a trial – a weekend healing out of my home. After the first year, I had worked with about 50 clients – all through word of mouth. Something was happening and it was positive. Healing was occuring – for my clients and for my soul. It was time to pursue. My last working day at my previous job was on the day of my 55th birthday. I felt this was an unplanned sign of me taking the right step, moving forward with my passion with what seemed natural to me. One week later, the COVID shutdown impacted the lives of everyone on this planet. Nonetheless, I reflected on what my parents taught me about following your dreams with resilience. I launched my business as soon as regulations allowed and started seeing clients. Since then, I have added my artistic skills into the mix and create intuitive paintings and drawings for clients. I also create and sell healing crystal jewelry and activate the pieces for the individual wearing them. I can say that the amount of gratitude I feel for my upbringing is immense. My work is my passion. The clients I meet are incredible souls who have since become part of My Chakra Center’s wellness community. I feel truly blessed and believe that experience is our greatest teacher. Our reaction to experience is the second part of the lesson. Perhaps one day my story will serve as inspiration for someone else. When speaking with clients, I share a thought from my own life experience. “Do you see the learning opportunity and embrace it, or are you resisting and finding yourself in a cyclical pattern, repeating the experience? This will continue until the lesson is acknowledged, forgiveness takes place – for self and others – and gratitude is expressed. At this time, joy can radiate.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a creative type, my tour of Dallas always begins with the Dallas Arts District. Spending a day at one of the renown museums or seeing a show is a must! The talent that comes through Dallas is phenomenal. For food and shopping, Bishop Arts District and Dallas Farmers Market are lively and entertaining. When I need a dose of the outdoors, I love the Nature Preserve in Oak Cliff or walking along White Rock Lake. My favorite restaurants are Toulouse for a French meal and Jalisco’s for upscale Mexican dining.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank my beautiful and loving family, who never questioned my decision to change my career path at the age of 55. They were and still are my cheerleaders. My children have been my light and love – in their convictions and the determination they display for the paths they choose to lead as adults wanting to better our world. We are all so very symbiotic. Of course, also top of my list are my clients. I am grateful for their trust in me and their validation that I am on my right path. Two families with challenging health issues have shown exceptional faith in my energy healing and I’d like to thank them with all my heart. They know who they are and for confidentiality purposes will not to share their names. My closest friends have also provided emotional support and superb non-judgmental listening skills as I planned my next “unconventional” chapter in life. My teachers and fellow light-workers: Valerie, Nawal, Sebastien, Fanny, Karine, Sandra, Kerrin, Erika. You are outstanding human beings! The spiritual leaders that have and continue to inspire me are Caroline Myss, Jonathan Goldman, Lee Harris, Sara Landon, Lisa Powers. Lastly, a big shoutout to Dallas International School for honoring my retirement after 28 years with grace. The mission, values and skills I have acquired have been pivotal to my life and my new business.

2021: Time for Re*SOUL*utions

A Year to Shimmer & Radiate Higher Frequencies 💛

Congratulations to us all!  We’ve made it through the craziness of 2020 and entered a new chapter!  We managed this past year’s ups and downs which indicates our adaptability and capability of riding the roller coaster wave of life!

It’s been a year of self-reflection and a year of heightened emotions.
We’ve experienced feeling the extremes from love to disdain, feeling safe and secure to the fear of the unknown, feeling good to feeling bad.

These are all incredible life experiences once we recognize them as such.

I’m an optimist and the first one to find the silver lining in any situation.  I’m stepping it up this year and finding the GOLD lining to create a higher level of graceful transformation.

What do I wish for in 2021?

✨  True empowerment of the individual in all matters of wellness.  We can all learn to increase our vibrational frequencies to stay healthy – emotionally, physically and spiritually – and help to prevent / heal dis-ease.

✨  Increased global awareness of the importance of being of-service to humankind.  Let’s be kind to each other.  Let’s show compassion.  Let’s be fair.  Let’s be truthful. Let’s be openminded.

✨  A stronger focus on what the word “success” means.  Does it mean money and power?   I vote for Love and Harmony instead.

💛

How can I be part of the manifestation of my wish for 2021?

I can align with my definition of a success:  I live in Love, Peace, Joy, Harmony and Grace.
I can share these attributes of success with my family, friends, and community at large.
I can nourish my body with healthy foods and maintain a mindful meditation ritual.
I can take the time each day to write in my gratitude journal.
I can be pro-active in spreading the word about Holistic healing.
I can educate people in understanding their chakra system and how they can remain balanced.
I can show empathy and compassion to those in need.
I can set the intention of all I do to always be for the best and highest good of the recipient.

What is your wish for the new year?

Whatever it is you wish to manifest for 2021, keep in mind that it must begin with you.

When YOU feel good, everyone around you benefits from your energy.
Higher frequencies override lower frequencies through the process of entrainment.
YOU can be a conductor of positivity in your environment.

✨  Keeping your chakras balanced and vibrant will keep your energy at a stronger frequency.
✨  Vibrational Sound Therapy brings your physical body into energetic harmony.
✨  Reiki energy keep the good healing intentions active for your best and highest good.

So, with that, I encourage you to invest in your SELF.

I send you all my best wishes for a beautiful new year.  May you be blessed with joy, love, peace of mind, great health, abundance and all things to be grateful for.

💛 Lorraine

Happy Holidays from My Chakra Center

An owl sitting regally on a holiday tree is a reminder of the grace to be found during quiet observation. Owl is a messenger for spirit. He sits calmly out of the way, yet ever so present, as a gentle prompt to reach out to our higher selves, where within, a higher truth is revealed. 🦉

The owl is nocturnal with keen senses of sight and sound. It sees through the shadows of the night and hears the sounds in the silence; the illusion of the darkness. This teaches us to see past our own illusions and trust our intuition and perceptive senses. ~ Anonymous

May this time of the year bring forth introspection, authenticity and the recognition that life is full of possibilities.  The best and highest intentions combined with good-feeling emotions can do nothing short of manifesting a better world for us all.

Sending best wishes to you and yours for a joyous holiday season full of love and celebration.

Gratitude Message From My Heart to Yours

Reflections of beauty and balance for 2020. 💛

The Thanksgiving holiday is a perfect time to reflect on the year we’ve just experienced and acknowledge the many reasons we have to feel grateful.  It’s true that 2020 has been crazy for us all. The twists and turns have taken us down paths we never knew we would experience.  It’s also true that all roads have a destination and I believe that we are on a journey meant to bring us an increased understanding of our Soul’s mission in this lifetime, including the understanding of duality – the good and the bad, the healthy and the toxic, higher emotions and lower emotions.

As Lao Tzu states in the Tao Te Ching:

“When the people of the world all know beauty as beauty, there arises the recognition of ugliness.
When they all know the good as good, there arises the recognition of evil.”

To remind myself of this and to stay centered and focused, each evening I take the time to jot down three or four things in my gratitude journal.  Then, I follow up with an empowering affirmation for each statement.  What may appear to be a small item in a busy day still carries a significant amount of high frequency vibrations in the world of gratitude!

“I saw a leaf in the shape of a heart.  I am aware of love.”
“I heard a toddler laughing with delight.  I am aware of joy.”
“I helped a client feel aligned and well.  I am honored to be of service.”
“I encountered a challenging situation and managed with ease. I am confident and trust my instincts.”

Recognizing these experiences reminds me of the beauty life brings and the growth opportunities it presents.  It’s easy to be grateful for good things and fun times.  It’s mindful to be aware of a provocation, see the lesson in it and express gratitude for the higher perspective it provided.

My Chakra Center has been a magnet for truly incredible experiences and encounters.  I have had the honor of meeting and interacting with the most amazing people and YOU, my fellow Wellness Warriors, are on my gratitude list.  YOU help me evolve each day and become who I am.   For this, I hold you in high esteem.

I wish you a safe, healthy and delightful Thanksgiving holiday.

Sending  💛 Love 💛 Peace 💛 Joy

The Power of Sound and Vibrations

Why Vibrational Sound Therapy?

The synchronicity of life amazes me.  Once you get on the right path – in my case, to work towards honoring my life’s purpose – the puzzle pieces find their proper placement.  Things just match up.  The key is to trust that the right opportunities present themselves when the timing is right.  Then, recognize it and take action.

After receiving my Reiki Master level certificate, I felt driven to take my interest in energy healing further.  I wasn’t sure what that looked like although I knew that I was curious and there was so much more to learn.  My son was living in Colorado at the time so I signed up for a nearby Vibrational Sound Therapy workshop.  As it turns out, I entered into the world of sound healing and soon realized the impact it would have on my journey and eventually the creation of My Chakra Center.  I was on an incredible new path that opened my eyes to a powerful ancient form of healing.

I arrived in Evergreen, CO excited to meet other students and learn about the secrets of sound healing.  The classroom had hundreds of bowls in all sizes waiting to be explored.  Some were very small and fit on the palm of your hand.  Others were so large you could sit in them for a massive sound experience.  During the training, students became familiar with the bowls, their sounds and frequencies.  I remember a special moment when all students struck the bowls simultaneously and the frequencies sounded like angels singing.  It was incredible and I was so grateful to be a part of the magic.  The energy from the bowls is alive and works with the practitioner to provide the entrainment of frequencies necessary for healing.  The feeling is quite reverent and humbling.

The bowls used for sound healing are therapeutically designed to carry higher vibrations than the normal singing bowl found in gift shops.  When placed on the body – which consists of about 75% water – the vibrations ripple as it does when a pebble is thrown into a pond.  These ripples continue for about 72 hours, keeping the healing process active.

This dynamic is called Cymatics – or the visual representation of sound – which can be demonstrated by the movement of sand on a platter when activated by frequency.  I urge you to search for “vibrations and sacred geometry” and watch videos that show this phenomenon.  When a certain vibrational frequency is reached, the sand automatically forms a geometrical design.  As the frequency rises, the design adapts and a new geometrical form is created.  These forms are referred to as sacred geometry patterns and can be found around the world at ancient civilization sites, including Egypt’s pyramids.  Over the course of history, they’ve appeared as crop circle images or been discovered by archeologists seeking for clues to better understand our planet and its inhabitants.  It has also been suggested that the pyramids of ancient Egypt were used as vibrational sound chambers for healing.  This notion helps to bridge the idea that we energetically respond to vibrational energy.

My perception of how energy works – in layman’s terms

We are all made up of energy.  99% of us is just that – energy.  We are less than 1% matter.  Can you imagine that?  As our energy is not static, it moves or bounces around.  It also has the ability to adapt to different vibrational frequencies.  Higher frequencies are activated by positive emotions, such as love, gratitude,  joy.  Lower frequencies are activated by negative emotions, or those that don’t feel good, such as fear, anxiety, depression and sadness.  Following this logic,  it could be understood that when our negative emotions are not processed and released, they lower the frequencies in our body until they become stagnant, get dense, and eventually manifest as dis-ease.  I would imagine that this could be seen in the form of tumors, cysts, illnesses, lowered immune system, etc..  Louise Hay, among many other spiritual teachers, explain that the body manifests what the mind creates or what our emotions resonate.

Now – let’s get back to the idea of Cymatics and imagine that every cell in our body is represented as a grain of sand.  We then place the vibrational bowls directly on the body, strike and let the vibrations flow.  The water in the body then begins to ripple and those cells align to that frequency’s sacred geometry. They are entrained into the highest frequency – for their best and highest good.

“Our body is a perfect transmitter of vibration….Nerve bundles in our spine transmit vibrational sensory data to brain stem and limbic system (our emotional processing center).  Placing the bowls directly on the body significantly increases their effectiveness.  The bowls vibrate at the frequency of perfection… Their sound entrains us into health by entraining our energetic system to resonate with them in their perfection.”

~ An excerpt from Diane Mandle’s article, published in “Unlocking the Ancient Secret to Healing” by Gail Lynn

Spreading the healing

Does the vibrational frequency break up the stagnant or dis-eased energy and therefore entrain it to a higher resonance, aligning with the healthy cells in the body?

In line with what the above quote indicates,  I’ve seen signs that this could be the case, keeping in mind that there is a difference between “Healing” – which means becoming whole –  and “Curing”, which is the elimination of all evidence of disease.  Sometimes these can both happen for a client although I believe that we don’t always understand the bigger picture and the journey our soul is supposed to experience during this lifetime. What I do know is that my clients improve their health and state of well-being when they receive on-body Vibrational Sound sessions.  A client was declared cancer-free by their doctor after working through a combination of conventional medicine and  Vibrational Sound Healing.  Another is living a full and vibrant life beyond what the doctors had originally anticipated. Many clients experience lessened stress levels in their body and achieve emotional healing.  Some use these sessions to tap into an inner awareness and spiritual growth.  Regardless of the personal experience, healing is the connecting factor in all instances.

It’s an honor to work with individuals who accompany their health and wellness routines with energy medicine.  Gentle, compassionate and loving energy allows for positive outcomes.   Once your body feels rested as a result of a sound healing session, it can focus on what it is naturally designed to do:  organically heal on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

Sending Light and Love 💛

Do You Take Five?

Reconnect with you.

An accelerated holistic awareness is taking hold of humanity.  Staying at home these past months has encouraged – and in some cases obliged – many to focus on reviewing their lives.  Being faced with learning to better understand and re-awaken the “self”, doors into memory archives have opened, many of which have been pushed back and ignored for a long time.  Old photo albums and journals are reconnecting us with our past.  In the present, some have been thinking about how stressful their jobs are and may even feel out of balance because they are not used to stepping off the fast paced treadmill of life as they knew it prior to the pandemic.  Thankfully, this time has also generated new ideas and projects that we’ve dreamed of yet, never thought we had the time to activate them.

How do we deal with all of the new information we’ve been processing?
How do we turn any heavy energy into a positive?

It all begins with attitude and intention.  Both of which can be greatly enhanced with meditation.

Meditation has been my daily ritual for years now, and became increasingly vital during the COVID-19 stay at home order.  It allowed time to release any past anger, sadness or feelings of regret.  During this moment of inner-space, I make it a point to work on my chakras to keep them as healthy and balanced as I can.  Each day is different and there are days I feel stronger and more connected than others – and that’s OK.  I honor the words of Don Miguel Ruiz in the Four Agreements: “Always do your best.  Your best is going to change from moment to moment.”  His words tell us to avoid hearing that little voice that tells you it’s not good enough.  Just do the best you can do that day. Meditation also allowed me to connect with my higher self, set new objectives and start planning steps towards my goals.

“Always do your best.  Your best is going to change from moment to moment.”

~Don Miguel Ruiz
For many, the thought of setting up a personal meditation practice can be intimidating as its often viewed as a time-consuming effort, requiring hours upon hours of commitment.  Although there are various types of structured meditation for the disciplined student, I find that a short and consistent meditation practice is easy to maintain and provides a sense of “zen” as I move through my day.

Set the tone for the day

I’d like to encourage you to take as little as five minutes of quiet time each morning before getting out of bed. Take this time for you – the true you and your thoughts.  Just set that alarm a few minutes earlier than usual and avoid the snooze button.  Wake up peacefully and quietly greet your soul.  Stay quiet, eyes closed with no one watching, judging or criticizing.  It’s a gift you give to yourself – and I truly believe that we are all deserving of spending some quality time with self.

A few ideas to get you started.

Get comfortable, close your eyes, smile, and pick one (or all) of the following:

💛 Repeat the mantra “I am happy, I am healthy, I am love” – and focus your attention on your breath.

💛 Reflect and purposefully select an intention for your day – and say it out loud.  “Today I …”

💛 Reflect on three things you are grateful for – and say “Thank You for …”

💛 Visualize the colors of your chakras and imagine them radiating from inside your body and outwards.  This will help to open them up to feel a greater sense of balance.

Try this for 21 days.  Then, ask yourself how you are feeling.  How are you managing your day?  Are you feeling more connected to who you are?

Perhaps after a few weeks, you may realize that a sense of calm has begun to reside within you.   As you love and nurture this feeling, it will continue to grow and grace your life with positive light.  At this point, you may want to extend your morning sessions to last a little longer.

Wishing you a wonderful experience reconnecting with your self and your soul.

💖 Lorraine

A sample of my handmade mini-malas are featured on this blog photo. During my daily meditation practice, I use my personal mini-mala to guide me through my chakra balancing.  I then close my meditation by acknowledging three things I’m grateful for, honoring the many gifts life brings me.  Mini-malas available for purchase at My Chakra Center.

Special Note:  I’m not a doctor and I’m not a therapist/counselor, so whatever I write is “souly” from personal experience.  Many beautiful souls are in need of professional counseling and treatment for help in difficult situations.  May light, love and blessings be with them as they work through their challenges to find peace of mind and joy in their hearts.

The Choice Is Yours

Are you mindful of your State of Consciousness?

Many of us are familiar with the Law of Attraction.  “Our inner self is mirrored outside of us.”, “You are a magnet for what you already are.”  and  “Like attracts like.”  are statements that we often come across on social media posts or on the pages of books and wall calendars.

These phrases suggest that we are responsible for the experiences we generate in our lives –  the types of people we surround ourselves with and the situations we encounter.  When we don’t like where we are, we often hide behind the “victim” role, using blame as our weapon to project our problem onto others. At some point, we may finally conclude that we have a choice about which role we play in a life situation and instead challenge ourselves to take a road less travelled with the objective of attaining a better result.  On a global level, we, as a community, could consider exploring this less-known path.

I recently came across some of the teachings of inspirational speaker, spiritual teacher and intuitive channel Sara Landon.  I learned that we attach ourselves to different states of consciousness or awareness.  These states of awareness could be visualized as “energy bubbles” that are in constant flux around us and contain like-minded and like-emotional communities of souls.  One can only reside in an energy bubble that it resonates with although it’s possible to move from one state to another – as long as a person’s energy aligns with its vibes.

While you live in your state of consciousness, others live and resonate in their states of consciousness. There is no right or wrong as everyone is where they need to be at the moment.  We each have our personal life journey and are not to judge someone else’s purpose or life-school curriculum.  After all, we are each on our own individual path.

Which state do you resonate with?

We can and do choose our states of awareness, whether consciously or unconsciously.  This may seem inconceivable if we don’t like where we are (because this means that we would have to hold ourselves accountable).  Moving into a new realm may seem unattainable and require self-work as important changes will need to be made in order to align with the state of consciousness we desire to reside in.  The consequences can be rough.  For example, relationship groups may shift if they no longer align with your energy.  On the upside, new incredible opportunities may present themselves as you find your place in your new vibe.

“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body.
If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.”

~ Mohandas Gandhi

Which state of consciousness are you aligning with?

Below are a few examples of the many states of awareness that you could recognize in yourself or others.  I encourage you to read through them and give it some thought.  Be honest with yourself – it may be challenging yet, so eye-opening.

“Woe is me”
“Life happens to me” (not for me).  Negative attitudes keep me stuck.  It’s never enough.  People are always out to get me.  I’m not worthy.  I am fearful, angry, anxious. I’m not in control. I want control. I want power. I blame others because it hurts to take responsibility for my own actions.  I feel guilt and shame.

Awareness and Transformation
I am open to gaining knowledge about myself and striving to find my purpose.  I am learning to tap into the authentic self. I recognize that it’s ok to not be perfect and I do my best in all situations.  Although painful at times, I embrace challenges as they promote self growth and healing.

Unconditional Love
I live without judgment.  I bestow unconditional love and empathy upon others.  I am compassionate and of service to others.  I use a bird’s eye view to understand the complexity of a situation and accept and agree that every single soul has his/her own life journey and lessons to learn.  Every single soul is worthy of love.

Do you resonate with any of these three particular states of awareness?  Perhaps you flutter from one state to another in different areas of your life.  The big question is:  Are you where you truly want to be?  Are you sharing your energy with the right energy community – or is it time for a change of awareness?

Be the Ripple

Now that you’ve considered where your awareness lives, let’s take it one step further.

Consider the following statement.  The emotion that sits in your heart is projected to others around you.  This means that dense emotions like fear, anxiety or anger have an energetic ripple effect into your surroundings – reaching into your community.  This community is huge in today’s world as we display these feelings in our day to day conversations, through social media, video and text messaging, etc..

If we can accept that emotions are contagious, wouldn’t most of us prefer to be the bearer of higher vibrational energy and spread feelings of love and joy?

Sages and spiritual leaders have been organizing mass meditations throughout history and now more and more people are taking it upon themselves to generate these practices – many of them through the guidance of spiritual leaders, energy healers and yoga masters or through the creative channels of musicians, artists and writers.  They all have the same goal of spreading positive vibes of love and healing to our world.  The spread of positive affirmations, healing energy, prayer, blessings and gratitude will continue to grow as more people understand the power of emotion.

Today, I’ve made my choice.  Emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing are where I choose to be and what I strive to share with others each and every day.  Daily meditations have been a blessing to me and I urge others to invest in this sacred time for themselves.  Love and compassion are HUGE benefits for our world and its collective consciousness.  That’s the “energy community” I choose to sparkle in because together we can be a strong ripple of healing for our beautiful world.

Joy, peace and love,

♥ Lorraine
The picture on this blog post is the first of a series of paintings I created after leaving my full-time career to open My Chakra Center and provide energy healing for anyone interested in exploring alternative approaches to wellbeing.  This intuitive painting represents the seat of the soul – our true and authentic selves and where our energy resides when we are at peace, feel joy and radiate love.

Own Your Energy and Let Your Light Shine

Have you ever wondered why you may feel depleted of energy?  Why might you feel like you are in a “funk” when everything in the present moment actually seems ok?  Would anyone looking at you from the outside say they don’t perceive anything being wrong – which all the more confuses you?

We all feel out of sync at times.  Maybe your energy is stuck in the past.  This notion is unseen yet it affects us profoundly.  When feeling a bit “off”, a solution could be to address some energy fragments you may have left behind somewhere in your life story.

Shadowed experiences are comprised of energy that has been so deeply pushed away in our memory closets that we’ve selectively chosen to set them off to the side.  They still reside within our cell memory gathering dust, while we pretend to leave the past in the past.  This is a fallacy – what lives in us is attached to us and therefore can affect us.  Please note that I’m not a doctor and I’m not a therapist/counselor, so whatever I say is solely from experience.  Or rather “souly” from experience.  I am, however, a curious person who is interested in human behavior and knowing why we react the way we do to situations.  I am an observer of life and reflect on my own experiences.  I’ve learned from my own challenges and the actions that preceded and followed them – the good and the ugly – sometimes very ugly.  Who knows, you may find a tidbit of information that may encourage you (with the guidance of a trusted therapist) to unpack some not so pretty memories, unload them and reunite with the beautiful soul particles you left behind.

How do we lose our energy?

The information I share below is my interpretation of a key message from the teachings of author, medical intuitive and spiritual leader Caroline Myss.  There are many other incredible leaders in this field and I will refer to them in future posts.  This is simply a point that resonated with me and I thought it may resonate with whomever happens to be reading this.

Based on Caroline Myss’ teachings, we leave little fragments of our energy wherever and whenever we have an emotional reaction.  This means that if we argued with someone who is now on the other side of this planet, a little piece of our energy is stuck there.  Imagine how much of us is dispersed all over the globe!  We end up feeling depleted as our energy is not fully integrated into our own system.

Have you left pieces of energy shattered during your life?  Have you ever escaped a conflicting situation by running away or by mentally “turning off” and ignoring the pain, hurt or anger you felt?
This, according to Caroline Myss is “unfinished business” that is hanging out there in the energy field.

How do we make ourselves whole again?

The answer is simple. Forgiveness.  The process is more challenging. Compassion, empathy, love in the place of anger, fear and hurt.
By truly forgiving, we release the attachment to the negative emotion, thus reclaiming our “fragment of light”.  Until we let go, this little fragment of soul-light gets stuck in the negative space where we left it.  It resurfaces from time to time – as if it is calling for help.  When left unforgiven for too long, it becomes desperate and seeks to be nurtured by different methods – and risks resorting to dis-ease in the body.  I interpret disease as dense, stuck energy in the physical and causal bodies, also known as energy blockages.

“Forgiveness does not mean saying that what happened to you doesn’t matter or that it is all right for someone to have violated you.  It simply means releasing the negative feelings you have about that event and the person or persons involved.”

~ Caroline Myss

Be proactive and own your energy.

Forgiveness, when done truly and fully from the heart, may be perceived as a preventive approach to healing on soulful and physical levels.  Moving forward, consider your attitude towards situations you face and make sure you keep your precious energy in a safe and positive space.   Add some gratitude for the beautiful light that lives within you.

Wishing you much love, peace and a joy.

The picture on this blog post was taken in Sedona, Arizona.  A trip to Cathedral Rock was the perfect setting for me to let go of emotional energy and forgive myself and past situations and the people who were part of them.

Special Note:  Many beautiful souls are in need of professional counseling and treatment for help in difficult situations.  May light, love and blessings be with them as they work through their challenges to find peace of mind and joy in their hearts.

Inspired to Pursue Energy Healing

Hello!  I hope this post finds you well, safe and sound during this “unusual” time.  I realize that some of you have been challenged with working the front lines, while others have set up office space for themselves – and their school-aged children – at home.

For me, this experience has been a gift of time to get my thoughts in order and set up new business.  I have been busy navigating through all the different facets of planning, from designing a website with an online shop, creating my art and jewelry, and setting up social media.  There’s a lot to do and I’m loving every bit of it!  The plan is to officially launch my online products before the end of April, followed by my services in a new location once our social distancing days are behind us.

As this is my first blog post, I thought I’d start off with a little history about me.   Who am I and what inspired me to pursue an energy healing center?

My love for metaphysical healing arts came from my family’s bicultural upbringing in Dallas and in France.  Imagine having a French “grandmère” who created her concoctions made of herbs to ward against illness.  Her home sprinkled with crystals and shells collected from her travels.  Personally-designed Native American-inspired needlepoints adorned her walls.  Handwritten notes on Jung’s philosophy filled her shelves.

My mother didn’t fall far from her maternal tree, as her nomadic pulse took her from Paris to Germany, Mexico and then Texas, where she met my father – a nomad on his own, having travelled the world with the Merchant Marines as a young man, in order to save money for art school.  My parents were both strong believers in following their passions and instilled this same belief in my sister and me.

It took me a long time to understand the importance of balancing Work and Life.  I have a tendency to dive into what’s in front of me with such passion that I risk losing my equilibrium.  I finally found that with daily meditation and maintaining a feeling of gratitude towards all of life’s experiences, the balance I needed gradually appeared to me.  This clarity was due to a lifting veil that had unknowingly clouded my vision for many, many years.  Balance is always available – you just have to learn how to recognize it.  And, as a wise man told me:

“If you have the attitude that life happens to you, you become the victim.  When life happens for you, you benefit from life’s lessons to grow and blossom.”

On that note, I hope you will “read” me again soon!  I’ll keep you posted on my progress 🙂

Sending you beautiful positive vibes for a brilliant day!
